7 days ago we stormed into Florida literally... over 1"of rain fell in 4 hours, so our night at Henderson Beach in Destin was soggy and included 20mph winds with sideways rain. as i am not a huge fan of being pelted by over aggressive rain, my mom was kind enough to hold our only umbrella over me when i had to go outside...that's love! in the morning, the storm had cleared, we were able to check out the white sands and aqua waters of the Emerald Coast...then we realized Spring Break was starting the next week and it was time to go!
it's nice to not be in a hurry to get anywhere, cause we get to hang in really special places like Dead River Landing on the Choctawatchee River. close your eyes and picture a murky swap in Florida...ok, open your eye's now cause we found it! it was cool with a slight deliverance vibe; dad did some fishing, mom did the creative chick thing and i was busy teaching Polly how to puppy!
most times we have no idea of what we're getting ourselves into when we veer from the beaten path, we trust the GPS chic and cross our fingers that the road isn't too bumpy - mom and dad are still working out a clear definition! So imagine our surprise when we role up on Dead River Road and there's a cemetery! coincidence...i think not! of course mom got pics!
it was time to move finally; doing our best impression of a pack wandering aimlessly and digging the multi-syllabic tongue twisters, we found ourselves in the Apalachicola National Forest at Wright Lake for the night. it was really pretty and a good place to get in some much needed puppy training time with Polly....i have my work cut out for me!
