that's a wierd name for a state park

just finished a 2-day stay at State Forest State Park off of the Cache La Poudre Scenic Byway/Highway 14...this road was beyond words amazing and if you are anywhere near Fort Collins CO, it is a must in our opinion.  Falls, rapids, glacier carved peaks, alpine lakes and meadows....oh yeah and you drive through a hole in the rock at the base of the gorge.  Of all the roads we have driven in the last 6 months, this one may be the prettiest so far.

although we agree that State Forest State Park is lacking in the creativity department when it comes to naming the park, it is truly a beautiful place.  we saw moose and deer in the park, but they were camera shy so you will have to take our word for it!
The ultimate in rugged Colorado, State Forest State Park offers visitors 71,000 acres of forest, jagged peaks, alpine lakes, wildlife and miles of trails.  The park stretches along the west side of the Medicine Bow Mountains and into the north end of the Never Summer Range.
check out the pictures and stay tuned, cause it's a dogs life!

Medicine Bow Mtn Range

yeah, I can see the tree line from here...so what ;-)
The tree line is the edge of the habitat at which trees are capable of growing. Beyond the tree line, trees cannot tolerate the environmental conditions (usually cold temperatures or lack of moisture).

a fab view of the jeep and the medicine bow mtn range
