it has become obvious that my mom has a strange fascination with graveyards. although we are in voodoo country, it's nothing like that, my mom just loves to take pictures of old, dilapidated, spooky graveyards. it's weird, harmless and it makes her smile...so we indulge her.
we stayed near the Stennis Space Center our first night in Mississippi; we were excited to catch a quick space center tour, who doesn't love space crap? arriving at 4:05pm on a Saturday afternoon, we were greeted by hours of operation sign that read -Explore Space, Monday-Saturday, 8am-4pm...really? So we drove through the empty parking lot while mom recited history and info from the 'field trip' app she downloaded. it was a pretty building...from the outside!?
next! driving around aimlessly and trying to take in all the sites that Mississippi has to offer, we stumble across the Logtown Scenic Byway to Space just 4 miles in...ok! Logtown was a Company Town founded in the 1800's, in the 1960's the remaining town residents were relocated to make way for the Stennis Space Center buffer zone.
