my humans have just informed me that we have a bucket list; these are things you really want to do while you still can....ok, i'm game! this trip, our epic journey, is apparently about checking the "things" off of the list.
in order to cross this "thing" off the list; we spent a few days at crystal hill, Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, hunting crystals and having an all around fabulous time. hiking, checking out veins of quartz and other amazing rocks, spectacular views...you can consider crystal hill conquered...by this pack at least! my human, robyn... she is a real rock hound! she found a handful of of quartz points, more than the rest of the pack combined, apparently they call to her her...hmmm?
quartzsite is special & unique in a fabulously weird way; normal population is about 3000...in jan & feb the population grows to about 1 million...yeah, that many and mostly rv'ers. it's been a rock hound mecca since the 60's and in the early 80's the crazy rv'ers showed up....so for 2 months a year, you can buy rocks till you puke and find just about the most obscure items thought possible for your rv at the worlds largest rv swap meet...this is all true, i could not make it up!
it all sounds really exciting and extremely congested, so although we are intrigued, we are glad we got to check it out before the craziness begins.
it's time to move...we have a lot of ground to cover
