recalculating...the columbia gorge and the jeep takes the lead

our jeep is our tow vehicle or TOAD as most rver's refer to it...clever, right?

mount hood was the next stop on this volcanic tour; as rain and possibly snow was immanent at hood, we decided to recalculate...because, nobody wants to put chains on this bus!

with the new destination of the columbia gorge & the dalles plugged into google maps...we take off! it is a spectacular drive up oregon 97 & 197 north towards the columbia river; about 30 miles short of our destination, at a 6% downhill grade with s curves for the next 5 miles... things start to get woudgie (yes, it's a real word) and a quick glimpse in joeys side mirror shows that the jeep is ready to take the lead on this leg of the trip!

we have ripped 1 side of the bumper off of the jeep...it was terrifying.

"good" bracket
very "bad" broken bracket

we made it safely to the dalles and with a temporary fix in place and new brackets ordered, we are gonna check out this historic place for a few days...

it's a dogs life
