celestial beings live in mt shasta...what?

5 fun facts you didn't know about mt shasta

1.  it is larger in volume than mt rainer... no kidding
2.  only major mountain in the west officially with a Native American name
3.  the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey determined in 1928 it is mathematically
 impossible to see the ocean from mount shasta’s summit
4.  shata is composed of 4 major volcanic cones = strato-volcano....oh, that's what is means
5.  Lemurians,  a spiritually advanced race of people from the lost continent of Lemuria (named for the lemur), built a city inside shasta and are waiting for the return of their ships...serious!

we hung at fowler campground for a few days of fishing and some awesome hiking trails along the three waterfalls of the mccloud river

we even made a trip into mount shasta city...a yelp reviewer described the inhabitants as "sparkly patchouli scented fairies"...so true and cool!  you gotta visit and get a coffee and sticky bun at yaks!

our last stop in ca was juanita lake, for a few more days of fishing....still trying to get our money's worth out of that ca fishing licence before it expires

the highways 89 & 97 in ca are amazing "less traveled" jewels....you really should check it out.
