wiener dog log: epic journey - week two.5

time to catch up, here is the 'reader's digest' version of the pack working our way through southern AZ.  we just made it in to New Mexico, lots to tell...so hold on to your hats!

we hung out in Catalina State Park, just north of Tucson, we walked the ruins and hung tight through a desert storm, only to be rewarded with a beautiful sunset!

cousin Kenneth
visited more of our pack in Gilbert, AZ - Kenneth and his lovely wife, Asi made us dinner...it was delicious and i had a good time...mostly outside, cause Asi is not a fan of dogs.  by the end of the evening, I was roaming freely through the house and Asi commented on how cute i was...i knew it, everybody loves a wiener!

next on to Kartchner Caverns State Park, just south of Benson, these are natural caves found in 1974 by 2 crazy caver dudes.  what I can tell you about the caverns is...no dogs allowed!  who wanted to see 50,000 bat poop anyway!  my humans visited the cave on 2 separate tours, consecutively, cause apparently my 'spoiled puppy butt' can't be left alone. then they proceeded to talk about it for hours...let me tell you, old bat poop is not that interesting.

next...Tombstone!  my humans were pretty excited when we found out we were less than 40 miles away and plans were made to make a small side trip through Tombstone on our way to New Mexico.

we head to bed to get some rest for our long day ahead. sleeping as snug as bugs in a rug....at 3:30am our super-nifty, 'electro-majic' electric bed (the one that: through a complex gear system, rolls up to the ceiling to be tucked away for driving and during the day and then conveniently, through same complex gear system, rolls down into the cockpit for sleeping) broke and dropped 8" , slamming onto the top of the dashboard, jarring all of us awake!  crap, can't drive with the bed on the dash!

dad...still smiling

life on the road is an adventure; that includes all the parts, mostly fun stuff and some not-so-fun stuff. my humans are now self-proclaimed 'experts' on tearing  a 'elctro-majic bed apart, parts have been ordered and for the meantime the whole pack will be sleeping on the pull-out couch and oh yeah...our mattress is in the kitchen, on it's side...i don't know what a 'beverly hillbillies' moment is, but we are having one.

coffee...anybody looking
crap, i'm caught

we made it to tombstone; it was raining, i met a chubby dog and my mom bought a hat...it was fun!

and now, 2 1/2 weeks into our epic journey, we've made it to New Mexico and are headed towards Roswell...it's about to get crazy up in here!
